37" LCD TV with picture processing courtesy of Philips Perfect Pixel HD Engine to ensure all images have great depth, clarity and colour reproduction. DLNA and Net TV are available through the Ethernet network connection bringing all your media on your PC to your screen plus some Online content.

Net TV: Through the network connection and an internet connection the 8404H series of screens can access Internet content of various types for display on your TV. Videos, catch-up TV and online services from news, game, traffic and weather providers will be available. Content will be specially tailored to display on a TV. Plug your PC onto the network and the TV will also be able to access media stored on that being a DLNA client.

Ambilight Spectra 2: On each side of the screen, set into the rear panel are LED's that respond to the colour of the images on-screen and produce a corresponding glow on the wall behind and to the side of the 8404H series. This forms a virtual extension of the screen content reducing eye strain and helping increase the involvement with the TV images.

The cabinet is a slim design with only a 24mm border trimming the screen. Speakers are present but have been secreted into the lower section of the display so they do not become instantly obvious - until you turn up the volume. This does not impair the sound which is impressive for a TV. It does mean the frame is clean uncluttered.

Philips Perfect Pixel HD Engine is a combination of processes to bring the best image it can to the screen from any source. This is further helped by the 100Hz processing that refreshes the panel at twice the normal rate to provide smoother motion, important for scrolling text and action scenes in movies and sport. Philips Perfect Natural motion takes the results of the 100Hz panel and Pixel Precise HD one step further to achieve more lifelike motion of all objects in a scene and the picture as a whole for rock solid images no matter the subject material.

The full HD resolution of this screen means standard definition material needs to be cleaned an polished to look good on the screen and the picture processing does just that. Feed any source into the screen and the internal scaling/processing will work its magic but ideally feed in an HD signal to see what the screen is really capable of. HD signals up to 1080p/24fps are accepted, meaning the screen is suitable for use with any currently available material. With impressive speakers secreted into the design as well the TV is an ideal choice for gamers using HD consoles or those requiring a high quality smaller screen.

Connection from multiple sources can be achieved through the HDMI, PC and USB connections. Images, video and data can all be displayed making this a true multimedia screen. Naturally Freeview is included. Alongside the RJ45 Ethernet port this screen also connects to your network via WiFi.
